A world of smiles,
Glinting, gleaming, polished teeth
all grinning widely
from billboard and bus-stop
on dreary days.
Pretending.
Paid-for happiness,
Tempting isn't it?.
Taken in by curved
shining, painted, pouting lips.
Grimaces of delight.

"SMILE!"
"SAY CHEESE!"
A superficial memory,
a picture postcard dream.
Something we all long for
that's (always) just
One puchase away!
One product we
Can't live without,
One buy we'll never regret...
All after One moment spent gazing
at a model's artificial smile.

This is a great take on the theme. It made me think of those toothpast adverts, and the lipstick adverts, and the lip gloss adverts, and oh, all these other adverts which want people to fix themselves somehow >>
